Step 1 Download the setup file you wish to install, such as ERM.zip Step 2 Unzip the installation package (ERM.zip) to a local folder using WinZip, PKZip, or some other program. If you do not have an unzipping program, refer to the Support link at this site on where to get one. Step 3 Double click on the Setup.exe file to start the installation. When prompted with choices during the install procedure, accept the defaults and just press ENTER. Only advanced users should change installation instructions. Step 4 If the setup program uses a database, there will be an executable file included with this installation to create the DSN. ERM will automatically create the DSN for your database when you run the program for the first time. Step 5 After installation, Attempt to run ERM. If you get to the main screen without any errors (other than the warning that the DSN needs created), you have all necessary files on your computer and do not need to proceed with these instructions. If there are errors, specifically an error explaining that the DSN is not created or files are missing, go to step 6. Step 6 Download and install mdac_typ.exe (Microsoft Data Access Components). This will put the components on your system needed for database connectivity. These files are not included with the minimal install because many users will already have them. Step 7 Attempt to run ERM again and there should be no errors. However, some users may still have issues. If you still need help, you can e-mail support@foryourinfotech.com for further assistance.
